Lessons are taught by one of our experienced instructors. We have school horses available for those who do not have their own horse. The horses are different sizes and suitable for varying experience levels. In order to develop well-rounded and knowledgeable riders, we teach all aspects of horsemanship. All students start out with an hour-long private lesson to evaluate their riding level and become orientated to the farm. All students are taught to handle the horse safely on the ground, brush, tack, and demonstrate proper control/balance/steering before moving into a group setting.
In addition to Jen, there are 2 other instructors who offer lessons. Brittany competed in ISHA for Delaware University and has extensive experience riding thoroughbreds. She worked at after the races, rehabbing and retraining OTTBs to be adopted. She has successfully trained and competed her own OTTB mare. Before attending college, Brittany was a student of Jen, where she was successful in numerous competitions. Brittany has experience teaching all levels of children and adults. Maggie has her bachelors in horse training and instruction. She was trained by top level internationally know instr4uctors. Maggie has worked taught lessons and trained at top level facilities. She has 11 years of experience teaching children and adults. She enjoys teaching English and western.
Students are encouraged to attend local shows, events, cross-country schools, and paper chases. We routinely trailer out at least once a month.
